Eithne Egan, CHHC, PMH-C

Hi, I'm Eithne.

I offer consultation and support to help you navigate systems of care.

I’m a single parent of a young adult with autism and a rare disease, as well as a trained postpartum doula, health coach, and parent consultant. After many challenging years advocating for a child with complex and unique needs within the educational and medical systems, I have learned a lot about the kind of support that is missing for many families. I draw on my experience as a postpartum doula and a health and wellness coach supporting women and mothers, particularly single parents, and I’ve completed numerous trainings and certifications to add to my lived expertise. I have trained with DONA International, Coach U, The Federation for Children with Special Needs, Postpartum Support International, FamilyWell Health, among others, and I’m a recent graduate of Boston Children’s Hospital’s Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) fellowship program. I also hold multiple certifications in perinatal mental health coaching, and a postgraduate certificate in Health Promotion and Wellness Practice.

I use my lived and professional experience to provide consultation to families to help them navigate complex journeys and systems related to parenting. I provide advocacy support and coaching for families with children and youth with disabilities, medical complexity, or mental health needs. I support mothers of recently diagnosed children, single parents, women in the perinatal period, and young children and teens with disabilities such as autism, as well as young people transitioning to adult systems of care. These journeys are varied and complex, requiring navigation and understanding of multiple systems, and I am constantly broadening my expertise through training and education, and by drawing the knowledge of a friends, colleagues, and leaders in my network. As a parent of a now- young adult with a disability, I am continually learning.

I’m a believer in the power of storytelling and I prioritize clear communication when navigating systems, in order to remain focused on what matters most to families. My goal is to support you as you articulate your vision and priorities for yourself and your loved ones, and provide clarity and information about how systems of care can best support your family. Equally, I hope to bridge information between siloed systems to decrease the care coordination burden that families face. I center your family’s needs in identifying and advocating for compassionate support systems. Humanizing care and centering disabled and family voices are always my priorities. I support families by providing a safe and validating space where your needs and wellbeing are at the center of what we talk about.

Sólás Consulting

I bring my offerings and experience together under the name Sólás. I was born and grew up in Ireland, emigrating to the US as a young adult. ‘Sólás’ is the Irish word for ‘solace’. I aim to provide relief, support, and solace for women and families to feel heard and empowered within systems that can be disempowering, and in times that can be challenging. ‘Solas’ is the Irish word for ‘light’, and I hope to shine a light on your perspective and story, in order to prioritize your family’s wellbeing in situations where personal and family perspectives are sometimes obscured.
